Reverend Canon Diana

Christian Feminist, a Counselor

The Reverend Canon Diana Nkesiga is a retired Anglican Priest of the Church of Uganda, 7ampala Diocese. She served God through the Anglican Church for 32 years before opting for early retirement in 2021. She is a Christian Feminist, a Counselor, an HIV/AIDS activist and an author. She continues her ministry at Phumla Retreat Centre, Budo.

Rev Diana served in different ministerial capacities within the Church. She was Associate Chaplain of St Francis Chapel, Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute, 7abanyolo (2018-2021), Vicar All Saints’ Cathedral, 7ampala (2007-2018), Coordinator for Southern Africa at Viva Network Africa (2006-2007). Together with her family, she served as a missionary in Church of the Province of South Africa (1992-2005).

Rev Diana is a recipient of several awards including the Quiet Gardens Publishing Book Award 2020, Award for Community Transformation 2018, the Presidential Jubilee Award 2015, and Inspirational Woman of Uganda Award- CEDA 2011.

Rev Canon Nkesiga is an Eminent Woman of the Women’s Situation Room, Uganda 2016 and 2021 and an African Eminent Woman of Ghana 2016. In 1994, she had the privilege of participating in the South African elections that overrode the apartheid system.
