Maude Mugisha is a Social Development Specialist and Team Leader, Quest for Development Consult limited, a consultancy firm based in 7ampala, Uganda. She is the current Chair of the Center for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP). She joined the Women’s Situation Room as an Eminent Woman in 2020.

In her professional career, Maude Mugisha has promoted women’s rights and human rights through work with women’s rights organisations. She worked as Executive Secretary of Action for Development (ACFODE), a women’s organization based in Uganda for nine years and as Coordinator for the Eastern African Sub-Regional Support Initiative for the Advancement of Women (EASSI) for seven years. She also worked as Gender Advisor for UNHCR in Uganda and Namibia and for the United Nations Country Team in Namibia.

Maude Mugisha has facilitated the operations of advocacy coalitions and networks to advance the rights of women and girls and other marginalized groups both in Uganda and other parts of Africa. She is a founder member of Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET), Uganda Debt Network (UDN); EASSI and the Centre for Women in Governance (CEWIGO). Maude Mugisha has also served on boards of a number of other civil society organisations in Uganda and the Africa region.
