Anne Nkutu

Gender Equality and M&E Consultant

Anne Nkutu is a Gender Equality and M&E Consultant. She has over 20 years of experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment and social inclusion, governance and programme management issues, gained from working with government bodies, development, civil society and private sector organisations.

Anne is the distrist Governor of Rotary District 9213, she was previously the Rotary Host Area Co-ordinator of the Makerere University Rotary Peace Centre and played instrumental role in its establishiment. The Centre which is the first Rotary Peace Centre on the African continent offers a one year Peace Fellowship for professionals from and/or working in Africa. Unlike other traditional peace programmes, the diploma in Peacebuilding, Conflict Transformation and Development focuses on the underpinnings of peace and strengthening local capacities for peacebuilding from a multi-disciplinary perspective.

In addition to being an Eminent Woman of the Women’s Situation Room Uganda, Anne is a member of the following boards: Mentoring and Empowerment Programme for Young Women (MEMPROW); International Centre for Research of Women (ICRW); Tororo Broadcasting Network; Rotary Uganda; and the Uganda Rotary Cancer Programme.

She is also an Assistant Ambassador of the Rotary International Empowering Girls Initiative, and a technical advisor on MHM advocacy for the Rotary International – USAID WASH Programme in Uganda.

Anne holds a B.A (Hons) Social Sciences of Makerere University and a

M.A (Econ) of the University of Manchester, U7.
